Arsalan Akhavan (US/UK/France) started Rug Entertainment in 2023 to produce and develop cross-cultural Iranian stories for the global marketplace. He recently worked for two years as the Director of Scripted TV Development for Lesli Linka Glatter's production company Backyard Pictures with Universal Television. Prior to that, he spent four years at Creative Artists Agency working across all facets of TV Scripted Packaging. Arsalan earned his Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts before transitioning into Television in Los Angeles in 2016. Rug Entertainment is currently developing a slate of projects across Television and Theatre, including Billion Dollar Masterpiece: The True Art Crime Saga of Iran's Greatest Treasure (Podcast, Docuseries, Scripted TV) and The Good Iranian (Theatre, Comedy). Arsalan is repped by CAA.
